Why I am involved in the Training Observatory

The long-term health of the arts in CJS sector is dependent upon our ability to identify and appropriately train new and up and coming artists.  The sector is still relatively young, and lacking in career structure and it is difficult for artists to be able to identify quality training and personal development opportunities.  The Observatory presents us with an opportunity to develop a framework for CPD that will assist artists in their career development and place locate their work within a professional structure.  TiPP is committed to developing training opportunities – we developed and deliver two highly successful undergraduate and post graduate training courses in Manchester and Glasgow – many emerging artists then struggle to identify their next steps; the Observatory’s initiatives offer a possibility for clear guidance
